TradeNoter ("we", "us", or "our") operates the TradeNoter service available at tradenoter.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Your trade data never leaves TradeNoter. The trade records, portfolios, and notes you enter or import are stored on our servers and are never sold, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than providing you with the TradeNoter service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name and email address. Authentication is handled by Auth0 — we do not store passwords directly.

Trade and portfolio data

We store the trade records, notes, and portfolio data you enter or import into TradeNoter. This data is yours and is stored solely to provide the service to you.

Billing information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but never see or store full card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data.

Usage data

We may collect basic analytics such as pages visited and features used in order to improve the product. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the TradeNoter service
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
  • To respond to support requests
  • To improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers hosted in Australia. We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and trade data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate TradeNoter:

  • Auth0 — authentication and identity management
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing
  • Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting and infrastructure

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and we encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
